Lead Purchase & Lead Protection Policy
This policy explains how roofing lead pricing, exclusive and shared purchases, reservations, lead-quality claims and RuufLink Lead Protection™ replacements work for roofing companies on RuufLink™.
1. Pricing
Prices are set per project category with separate exclusive and shared amounts. The price displayed at checkout is the price charged, and it is stored permanently with your purchase record. Prices may change from time to time, but the price in effect at the time of your purchase is the price that applies to you.
Prices vary by project category, purchase type, and how soon the homeowner wants work started. The exact price is always shown before you buy.
2. Exclusive vs shared
- Exclusive: no other company can purchase that project.
- Shared: up to the published maximum in effect at the time of purchase, currently three.
- Once any shared purchase exists, exclusive is no longer offered for that project.
3. Purchase flow
A purchase moves through started, payment initiated, payment confirmed, finalized, then unlocked. Contact details are released only after our server confirms payment. Unfinished checkouts expire and release the slot.
After a purchase is finalized, RuufLink™ also notifies the homeowner that your company has been connected with their request and provides your public business information, so the homeowner may contact you directly.
4. Lead availability
A project generally remains available for purchase for up to 14 days after it becomes available, unless it is purchased, withdrawn, removed or otherwise made unavailable sooner. RuufLink™ may adjust the availability period, so the actual period in effect may differ.
5. Our limited role
RuufLink™ is a lead marketplace. We do not perform, supervise or guarantee roofing work, estimates, contracts, warranties or project outcomes. We do not guarantee that a lead will result in contact, an appointment, an estimate, a sale, a signed contract or a completed job.
6. Reporting a lead-quality problem
Qualifying lead-quality problems are handled through RuufLink Lead Protection™. You may file a claim from your contractor dashboard within 7 calendar days of unlocking a lead. Purchases unlocked before the RuufLink Lead Protection™ effective date keep the policy that applied at the time of that purchase.
Problems that are generally eligible include:
- Disconnected or invalid phone number.
- Contact details that belong to someone other than the homeowner who submitted the project.
- The homeowner says they never requested roofing work.
- The contact is not the property owner or decision maker.
- Duplicate of a project you already purchased.
- The property is outside the service area shown on the listing.
- The project is not the roofing category the homeowner submitted.
A category claim is measured against what the homeowner submitted, not against what a contractor concludes after inspecting the property. Homeowners describe their roof as they understand it. If a homeowner submits a Roof Repair / Leak project and your inspection determines the roof needs full replacement, that difference in diagnosis or scope is not a categorization error and does not by itself qualify the lead for RuufLink Lead Protection™ or a replacement lead.
7. What does not qualify
- The homeowner did not answer or did not respond.
- The homeowner chose another company.
- The project budget or scope was not what you hoped for.
- The homeowner changed their mind, delayed the project or could not be scheduled.
- The lead did not convert into a job.
- Comparison shopping by the homeowner.
- The roof turned out to need different or larger work than the homeowner described, including a Roof Repair / Leak project that your inspection determines needs full replacement.
- A difference, discrepancy, inaccuracy or omission in an automated roof measurement estimate, including estimated roof area, pitch or measurement confidence.
A homeowner who does not answer or respond, comparison shopping, a homeowner who chooses another company, a budget or scope that does not fit, a change of mind or delay, a scheduling problem, or a lead that does not convert into a job are ordinary sales outcomes and do not qualify.
8. Review process
Our team reviews the original homeowner submission, the phone verification record, the audit trail and any other relevant information before deciding. Decisions are recorded against the purchase. We review each claim and notify you of the decision after review.
9. Remedy: replacement, not refund
Filing a claim does not approve it. RuufLink™ reviews each claim and determines eligibility. A replacement is issued only where the reported problem is verified against RuufLink™’s own records; a contractor’s report on its own does not establish eligibility, and not every reported lead is replaced. Where a claim is approved, the remedy is one replacement lead of the same purchase type and project category, subject to matching leads being available in the marketplace. The entitlement is one lead, not a dollar balance, RuufLink Purchase Credit, cash value or discount: it is redeemable at no charge whether the normal price of the equivalent lead has since increased or decreased, and a lower price leaves no remaining balance, refund or additional replacement. Leads carrying the HOT urgency premium are not eligible for replacement redemption. A replacement is issued as a single-use entitlement that expires 30 days after it is issued. Approved lead-quality claims are not monetary refunds and do not reverse a charge.
Monetary refunds are a separate remedy reserved for billing or payment errors such as a duplicate or incorrect charge, where required by law, or in other exceptional circumstances RuufLink™ separately authorizes. Lead purchases are otherwise non-refundable.
10. Paying with RuufLink Purchase Credit
- At checkout you may choose to apply RuufLink Purchase Credit to your purchase. Credit is applied only when you choose it, and never for more than the purchase price. You may pay the remainder with a card, and where we allow it a purchase may be paid entirely with credit.
- If a checkout is cancelled, fails or is abandoned, any credit held for it is released back to your balance.
- If a purchase is refunded, value returns the way it was paid: card payment back to the card, credit back as credit. Credit is never refunded as cash, and a card refund never exceeds what was actually charged.
- Each purchase can receive only one remedy — a refund, a RuufLink Lead Protection™ replacement, or Booked Appointment Assurance credit, never more than one for the same purchase.
10a. Paying with a monthly plan
- Monthly plans are optional. Pay As You Go remains available with no subscription required, and you may buy any opportunity with or without an active monthly plan.
- At checkout you may choose to apply your available monthly plan value to a purchase. Plan value is applied only when you choose it and never for more than the purchase price. Any remainder is payable by card, and a purchase fully covered by your plan completes with no additional card charge.
- A purchase draws on either your monthly plan or RuufLink Purchase Credit — never both.
- If a checkout is cancelled, fails or is abandoned, any plan value held for it is released back to the current billing month.
- If a purchase is cancelled or refunded, each funding source is restored to its original source: card payment back to the card, credit back as credit, and plan value back to your monthly plan. This is separate from RuufLink Lead Protection™ and Booked Appointment Assurance claim remedies, which are described in their own policies.
- Restored plan value follows the normal monthly plan rules and does not roll over past the billing month.
11. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The version in effect at the time of a purchase is recorded with that purchase.
